Phil Gerus

Milk & Honey – EP

Release date: Jul 5, 2012

Moscow-based Phil Gerus began his earliest musical adventures with direct parental help, specifically in the context of the family's jazz trio. This would lead to an academic concentration upon piano studies and an eventual, rather unique passion for the works of Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Ravel, and Chopin. Moving slowly into the world of wires and plugs as his studies progressed, Gerus was ultimately tempted to move his skill-sets into a realm of electronic performance.

Milk & Honey speaks for itself - funky, sexy and smooth. A vanilla cake made of creamy lo-fi boogie, disco and funk. Occasional voicing, live instrumentals, subtle grooves and what's most interesting - all caught on tape: noisy, down-pitched and obscure. Well, such mixture brings a real fun for all low fidelity adepts and old-school groove-lovers. This is something like if Tensnake hit into a time machine and something went slightly wrong, though pretty humorous.
