In 1996 two mc's by the names of Jason the Argonaut and Lazerus Jackson burst onto the "do it yourself" hip hop scene and did so on the strength of their own sound. That sound became what is now considered the signature sound of DISFLEX6 (dis-flex-six). They released two albums, "1984" and "Roadside Attractions," which brought the duo increased exposure and added them to the ranks of other Bay Area indie hip hop artist such as, well you know their names, Blackalicious, Souls of Mischief and the Living Legends.
In 1999, Disflex6 added two new members to their team, Elon.is, to help Jason with the beats and to refine the sound, and Dj Capsize to round out the group. Collectively they released "Where the Sidewalk Ends" in 2000, a refreshing change to the mundane music on the indie scene. While continuously recording and promoting themselves thru the internet (www.disflex6.com & myspace.com/disflex6), "Where the Sidewalk Ends" received significant attention and enough even to get noticed in places as far off as Europe and Asia. Catching the attention of LEX Records in London, Disflex6 released two albums, "The Hot Season EP" and then "Disflex6 Presents Lazerus Jackson." With these two releases and a continuing stream of indie releases straight out their house, the Disflex6 crew has been and will continue to be a mainstay in the hip hop scene.
