Gypsy Mamba is Darius Giurar, a first generation Romanian-American born in California, residing in Rancho Cucamonga, and highly influenced by the creative beat community of Los Angeles.
Chasing music through his childhood, Giurar was introduced to the saxophone, guitar and piano by the church, an experience that ended with dissatisfaction and mischievous repercussions. Years later, his musical desires were rekindled through the electronic music production and performances of local artists at Low End Theory, Boom Box, Beat Cinema and More Fire.
A gifted laptop from his cousin opened the floodgates of creativity for Giurar, drowning out excuses and inspiring him to produce. He quickly realized how fulfilling electronic music production was, and he now has a means to an end.
Giurar's passion, dedication and talent was soon recognized, and the artist found himself performing at the very club nights that had inspired him. When Gypsy Mamba isn't helping to host and create artwork for Beat Cinema, he's performing in San Francisco with the Resonate crew and focused on running the label Rootnote Collective, which he co-founded in 2014.
Most recently, Gypsy Mamba signed with the influential label Alpha Pup Records, and released his first LP Da Feenux on October 23, 2015.
