3 Melancholy Gypsys

Way back in 1992, 3 aspiring lyricists befriended each other at West L.A.'s Hamilton High School. From then on, they formed a friendship that would bring them to new heights in the underground hip-hop scene.

3 Melancholy Gypsys, as they came to call themselves, consists of MURS, Scarub, and Eligh. Their first release, Gypsy's Luck, came out in 1998. With Eligh on production, this release was greeted with positive reviews from any who could get their hands on this limited release.

Their next full length studio album came out in 2005. Named Grand Caravan to the Rim of the World, it was heralded with much praise and acclaim. Many noted it for its memorable beats, conscious subject matter, and rhyme schemes of the highest quality.

In their short stint as a group, 3 Melancholy Gypsys, or 3MG as they came to be known, made a name for themselves in L.A.'s tumultuous undergound hip-hop scene by providing rhymes of the everyman over delicious beats. That equation makes the 3MG discography one that's not to be missed.
