400 Blows

You might have heard a song of theirs recently in the movie "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby", but a sweet serenade would be ill-suited to tell the story of 400 Blows and their journey through the music industry. 400 Blows came to be formed in 1997 with Skot Alexander providing the vocals, Christian Wabschall playing the guitar, and Ferdinand Cudia manning the drums. Their punk-inspired metal sound took the streets of Los Angeles by storm. In time they come to be known not only for their music but their manic shows, giving a whole new meaning to 400 Blows.

Their first full length album, Black Rainbow, came out on Rehash Records in 2003 to rave reviews. The public praised them for their ability to combine elements of hardcore, metal, and punk to create a new minimalistic fusion of sound.

Angel's Trumpets and Devil's Trombones, released in 2005, was the full length follow up to Black Rainbow. This time around the album was released on Gold Standard Laboratories. Once again, 400 Blows struck musical gold. Reviewers were quick to compare and contrast the yin qualities of the rhythm heavy grooves to the yang qualities of the high-pitched, abrasive style of storytelling.
